From Steve McQueen to Marilyn Monroe: Hollywood’s Favorite Classic Cars That You Can Own Too

Anything celebrities touch turns into gold. That’s why you can see even the oddest of things that were owned by stars being auctioned – from Justin Timberlake’s half-eaten French toast to Scarlett Johansson’s used tissue, a lot of people are really willing to shell out their hard-earned money on ridiculous things.
All the more if their favorite idol’s beloved cars are up for grabs, which are expensive, to begin with, but attach a big name to a vehicle and it becomes even pricier. In the world of automotive, nothing sets a car apart than the fact that it was owned by an automotive legend.
Marilyn Monroe’s Cadillac Series 60
Regarded as one of the most iconic personalities of all time, nobody doesn’t know who Marilyn Monroe is. Twin Falls’ Yellow Cab and Limousine Co. bought the 1954 Cadillac Series 60 in 1955 and was intended to be ridden by high-profile clienteles in Sun Valley. Among those chauffeured into this fine ride were Janet Leigh, Lydia DuPont, Bing Crosby, and Ann Sheridan.

Can you ever find a car as glamorous as this Cadillac used by Marilyn Monroe in 1956?
But of the roster, no one is as glamorous as Marilyn, who used the Cadillac in 1956 for transportation in production to the film Bus Stop. This car, with special Fleetwood, only has 63,822 miles on its odometer and was the flagship of the luxury brand at the time.
Carroll Shelby’s De Tomaso Pantera
Unlike actress Marilyn’s car that was used by other big stars, this 1983 De Tomaso Pantera GTS was just owned by automotive designer Carroll Shelby. He was famous for the CX 2000, commonly known as Cobra, which earned praises after the 1962 New York Auto Show. He was also instrumental in the creation of the Shelby GT350 and GT500.

Car manufacturer De Tomaso actually gave this Pantera GTS to renowned automotive designer Carroll Shelby
This Pantera, which is the Italian for panther, was actually a gift from De Tomaso himself. To make it more special, this car is just one of the 7,000 of the model that was manufactured in the span of two decades. According to reports, it only has 4,571 mileage and is in mint condition.
Steve McQueen’s Custom Commodore
Steve McQueen rightly earned his moniker The King of Cool during his heyday. The Bullitt star is no doubt one of the hippest of his generation, so there’s no doubt that his belongings are the coolest, too, including his 1950 Hudson Custom Commodore Six Brougham Convertible that was said to be one of his favorite rides. The car definitely screams his personality and he made sure its features fitted his preferences.

Steve McQueen can make anything look cool, so it’s only expected that his ride speaks of his personality
According to Daniel Schmitt & Co.’s research director Michael Dyer, this convertible has a twin H-power engine, which is not the original one.
Apparently, Steve wanted the car to meet his standards of power and speed. The next owner would literally feel like it was given to them by the actor himself because it hasn’t been restored and have minor imperfections. To make it feel even more exclusive, it was just one of the 700 created and has a 22,647 mileage.
