For a person who owns a Tesla electric car or wishes to buy one, one must look into all the possible insurance as well as the costs. Tesla owners may be unaware of the fact that the manufacturers of the electric car have now started to provide their own car insurance coverage packages. And it seems as though for Tesla owners, purchasing car insurance directly from the company may be light on your pocket compared to any other insurance provider as it may give you more coverage for less money.

The manufacturers at Tesla believe that because they know their vehicles better than anyone, providing insurance at a lesser cost could leverage the safety, technology, and serviceability of Tesla cars.
In the past, Tesla car insurance availability was limited to California. however, the program has now expanded to various other states. Now, Tesla car provides insurance in the following states:
- Illinois

How To Buy Tesla Insurance?
Anyone can buy Tesla car insurance directly through the Tesla mobile app on Android or iOS. Currently, the owners of a Tesla car purchase a policy in-app by going to the top-right corner of the screen where the profile picture is and tapping on “Get Tesla Insurance.”
Tesla owners who have vehicles other than the Tesla can insure even their non-Tesla cars by including them in the policy while purchasing it. And people who have already purchased a policy can simply contact Tesla and have them add their non-Tesla cars to the policy.
There’s no denying that choosing a provider for your vehicle’s insurance is an important decision. Rates can differ according to the location as well as other factors, which is why the best thing to do is request for quotes from Tesla as well as any other insurance providers to figure out what fits your budget and which rate is the best for you.
